2 months = 2 feet
Published by Mom October 8th, 2006 in NewsJoshua is 2 months old today & is already 2 feet tall! He had his cardio follow-up appointment on the 5th & his 2-month peds appointment yesterday. The cardiologist found a “trivial” aortic insufficiency (although any amount is not really trivial to us!). He said that it won’t really affect anything but he wants to see Joshua in 6 months rather than waiting until he’s a year old as previously planned.
Joshua was such a good boy at his appointment, even grinning, cooing, & looking around throughout his EKG & exams. He looked like he was on the verge of laughing for the first time. And then they did the ultrasound. He did not like that in the slightest, but he managed to stay relatively calm, unlike the last time when they couldn’t complete it because of his kicking & screaming. They did the entire ultrasound & said it was good, other than finding the AI.
At the peds appointment, we foudn that Joshua is 2 feet tall! He’s 24 1/4″ long & weighs 11lb 2oz. They said he’s in the 90th percentile for height & the 50th percentile for weight–looks like he’ll be tall like his mom! I’m happy about that, since everyone says that he looks just like Erick. At least this way I can prove he’s mine, too.
I meaured his foot length as well, because he’s also inherited the big Royer feet–they were 3″ long when he was born & they’re already 3 3/4″! Joshua had his first set of immunizations after his appointment, & boy did he scream! They poked him 5 times. He got 3 regular shots, a special shot for a respiratory virus he needs because he’s a cardiac baby, & a blood draw (for the first time as a big boy, they drew it from his arm rather than sticking his heel!).
Joshua & I are having fun during the days & enjoying spending time with Dad as much as he can when he’s not studying. Josh smiles a lot (although he still cries very loudly when he’s upset!), & he makes cute cooing noises when he’s very excited. I expect him to start laughing very soon. He will take a couple of naps a day, which I enjoy a lot for my own sanity–because of this, our unpacking & house projects are almost completed (or as completed as we expect them to be in the near future). Josh also enjoys laying on his activity mat & staring at the toys hanging from it–he’ll hit them every now & then but usually stares at the toys & kicks his legs & moves his arms around when he’s happy. He does not like tummy time but Mom is diligently working on that with him. He tolerates it much better & lifts his head up more often to look around. He spends time in his bouncer & swing at times, mainly to relax while his parents are eating & he doesn’t feel like being put down.
That’s it for now. Joshua is definitely growing & changing. We’re taking photos & will post them when our computer situation is resolved. Time has sure flown by in the last 2 months!
Well of course he’s yours too! YOU carried him for 9 months for godssakes! ;-D At this rate, by the time he’s one, Josh will be bigger than me. Great….
