On his own 2 feet

Joshua’s newest accomplishment is being able to pull himself up to stand.  We practiced it together this morning & then I put him down for his nap.  When I looked at the baby monitor, there he was standing up all by himself in his crib!  Fortunately, Mom & I had lowered the mattress all the way.  Josh can stand up but he doesn’t know how to sit back down.  He’ll stand there until he either falls onto his butt or Mommy helps him to sit back down.  He’s very curious, so he tries to reach for things, so this is when he usually topples over.

In addition to his frequent squealing, Joshua babbles more than ever now.  He says ‘mama’ & ‘dada’ all the time, which is so nice to hear, although they don’t really mean anything & he’ll use them whether we’re there or not.  I can’t wait for the day when he says ‘mama’ & knows it’s me he’s talking about!  Joshua still loves being the center of attention & feels the need to announce his presence if he thinks we’ve forgotten he’s there.
