There’s no stopping him now…
Published by Mom April 5th, 2007 in NewsWe’re officially in trouble—Joshua is crawling!!! He finally got the hang of it yesterday & now he won’t stop. Josh’s goal seems to be getting to the hardwood floors. We have a large rug in our living room but I guess he likes the shiny hardwoods, because that’s where he wants to go. Joshua has been trying to get off the rug with his sit & dive technique for over a week now, but he finally realized how to get there more quickly. With time, Joshua will get faster, but hopefully that won’t be any time soon. I’m not ready for this—it was easy to put him down & get things done, but that is no more. We’ve babyproofed as much as we can without putting in a cage in the living room. Now that he’s crawling, this idea is sounding much more appealing!
Joshua had another follow-up cardiologist appointment today. He did great for the EKG but it seemed that he was ticklish during the echo because he kept squirming & squirming. The cardiologist couldn’t get a complete view of everything but he didn’t feel the need to keep looking around when it was so difficult. Things looked the same as before, which is a relief. His VSD still hasn’t closed but there’s no bloodflow through it, so that’s good. We’re also happy that his aortic insuffiency hasn’t gotten worse & is still considered ‘trivial.’ The doc wants to see Josh again in 6 months to get another look at his heart. Hopefully he’ll be nice & still, so they can get a complete echo & we can start doing annual checks! But at least no needles were involved with these visits, so Joshua doesn’t seem to mind them as much. Josh weighed in at 19lb 1oz. What a big boy he’s becoming!
After Joshua woke up from his nap, the 3 of us went down to DC for Joshua’s first metro ride. We went to the National Mall, layed out a blanket, & relaxed in the shade of a tree. Joshua & I played while Erick studied—until Josh kept crawling over to Erick & trying to rip up his papers. I think he was trying to tell Daddy to stop studying & play with us! Then we went to the Air & Space museum for awhile. Josh fell fast asleep in his stroller as we left & slept the entire way home.
