We survived our flight & made it to Oregon without incident.  Yeah!  Both legs of the trip were completely full, so it was a little crowded for comfort but all went well other than that.  Joshua was pretty squirmy & whiny at the airport so the other passengers looked worried about being stuck on a plane with us, but he actually was very well behaved the entire time.  Josh was a little hyper—but happy—on the trip to Denver, & then he slept almost the entire flight up to Portland.  I was talking to a flight attendant on the first leg about how I remembered going to the cockpit to see the pilot & getting a set of wings on my first flights, & she gave Joshua his own wings!  If I don’t manage to lose them before we get home, they’ll go into his baby book (which I still have yet to start!).

So far, Joshua is really enjoying being with Grandpa again.  It’s pretty mutual, of course.  Dad is having a good time crawling around with Josh on hands & knees.  Josh likes to point out all of the non-babyproofed things at his house.  It’s a good thing I brought a large package of outlet covers with us because I’ve used 32 of the huge 36-pack so far!  Dad’s place is more spread out than our house, so Josh really gets to go places.  He’s getting faster & faster, so I’m getting a work-out trying to prevent him from getting to the places he really wants to go—the fireplace, the TV stand, the cords, etc.  Now, if he’ll only adjust to the west coast time zone, I’ll be happy.  My little alarm clock keeps getting up before 6:45, & he doesn’t have a snooze button that I can push in order to get a little more sleep in the mornings…
