Heart Walk 2007

Well, the Heart Walk is over.  It was still bitterly cold out which I was afraid of, but it still felt a bit warmer than the previous years.  We couldn’t end up finding some of our team members & a couple couldn’t make it at the last minute, but there were 7 of us in total, including 3 little ones in strollers.  We had a fun time but the double lap was just too much for the kids so we ended up stopping a bit early.  Joshua wasn’t in a good mood for the beginning because Mommy had the nerve to put his hood on & then put mittens on him so he couldn’t take it off!  Plus, he had to stay confined in the stroller for longer than he wanted since as soon as I’d let him out, he’d run away which wasn’t the best idea in a crowd.  What a mean mom, huh?  And after we started the 2nd lap, he announced that he’d had enough.  I think he was getting butt wrinkles from sitting but it was more likely his missed nap time that was the problem.  Either way, we headed back to the festivities for a bit longer & Josh ran around picking up leaves & trash while I visited with Mom’s cousin Deb.

Thank you to all of our sponsors!  I don’t have a grand total of how much our team raised since people have mentioned that they still want to donate, but so far, Josh & I raised $785, & our team raised a grand total of $1,420.  Way to go, Joshua’s Heart Walkers!!!  I would love to have an even larger team next year so be on the look-out for my announcements again this summer.  I bought a new camera to replace my old one which broke again, so I’ve uploaded some photos from the walk.  Since I just got the camera a couple of days ago & hadn’t gotten much time to try it out, I stupidly forgot to replace the tiny memory card that came with it with my larger one so I didn’t take as many photos today as I would have.  That’s what happens when I wake up too early in the morning & spend more time getting Joshua ready than myself!  But there are some good shots, so that’s OK.

Joshua is sound asleep in his crib, so I’m going to do the same now.  Even though we didn’t make it the whole 3 miles, I’m still worn out.  Thanks again for your support!
