Hot stuff

Poor little Joshua has his first-ever fever & he’s not taking it very well.  Neither am I.  His fever almost reached 103, at which point we would’ve had to go to the ER per instructions from the peds clinic.  Fortunately it didn’t come to that because the Tylenol did the trick & got the fever down to the double digits for most of the time.  He doesn’t have an appetite (even for peas, which is his favorite food), but we’re making up for it with extra nursing sessions since that’s pretty much the only thing he’ll take in.  Needless to say, Josh has pretty miserable so we’re doing a lot of cuddling on the couch & watching his Baby Einstein videos (we only have 2 since he doesn’t get much TV time yet, but I think I’m going to have to invest in more since we’ve seen them both a dozen times in the last couple of days!).  Those videos are the most simple things but are mesmerizing to little ones!  Even while he’s sick, Josh is fascinated by the movies & will even wave at the different animals & puppets on the screen.  At times, he’ll see his toys laying out & gradually start playing with him.  But then he seems to suddenly remember that he’s feeling awful & starts crying in the middle of his playing.  If he wasn’t so upset, I’d laugh because it’s the funniest thing to watch.  Fortunately, it seems like the worst is over & he’s on the way to recovery.  Hopefully he’ll be 100% by the time we leave for Oregon on Tuesday.  This is putting me behind with packing but we’ll manage.  I’m just crossing my fingers that I don’t catch the bug that he’s got but it’s probably inevitable.  As long as Joshua gets better, I’ll be happy.
