10 cool things…

A friend of mine showed me this the other day & I had to pass it along because it’s very funny.  Other than #9, I love it & think it would be great on a t-shirt.  This is taken from the Adult Congenital Heart Association’s latest newsletter (Winter 2008):

TEN COOL THINGS ABOUT HAVING A CONGENITAL HEART DEFECT:

1. You meet a better class of doctor.

2. You have a built-in excuse for getting out of extra work, as in “I’d love to help you move that heavy furniture, but unfortunately I have a heart condition.”

3. The scars give your significant other something to trace with their fingers.

4. You learn a lot about your body when your doctors constantly use you as an example with young residents and internists.

5. Your lack of physical capacity tends to make you focus on more intellectual and educational pursuits. This often results in higher earnings later in life.

6. Shallow and superficial people abandon you early. This makes it easier to identify your true friends.

7. Growing up, a simple note from home can get you out of a lot of undesirable school activities (like gym class).

8. While others lead normal, boring lives, you are constantly beating odds and blazing new trails.

9. It makes it easier to get a handicap-parking permit.

10. Blue is a very cool color.
