Published by Mom March 20th, 2008 in NewsJoshua got his 10th tooth today. The last couple of days—& nights—were very difficult for the poor little guy, but now that it’s started to poke through, he seems to feel a lot better. He now has 6 on top & 4 on the bottom. The funny thing is that he’s got a gap of 2 teeth on each side on the bottom since the ones that just came in are molars(the 9th came through in one day last week). But I’d imagine the others will come before too long. I just hope they wait until we get back from Hawaii so that he doesn’t have these crying-loudly-in-his-sleep nights that happen whenever he’s teething.
Joshua is enjoying learning his body parts & can point to almost anywhere we ask now. His favorite things to show off are his belly button & his cheeks (the latter he doesn’t point to so much as squeezes his hands together to squish his cheeks & make a funny face). He’s still not showing a huge interest in talking but what words he does say, he’ll say a lot more often, so that’s good. He’s learned how to say “knee” & “toe” so he likes to point to them & have us ask him what they are. Joshua likes to talk to Daddy on the phone & will do the “Wheels on the Bus” movements whenever Erick calls. So poor Erick has to sing a couple of verses in response. That’s the one song to which Erick really has the lyrics down pat so I suppose that’s why Josh loves him to sing that particular song.
Joshua loves listening to his toddler CDs that I fortunately thought to bring with us. We’ve heard all of them about a million times because he keeps asking for (demanding?) music. There is now a CD player in all of the rooms we’re in frequently so all of the bases are covered. He’ll listen to the songs & dance around the room. He’s got more dancing talents than his parents, so let’s hope he keeps it up.
We are going to another children’s museum tomorrow. The Gilbert House is just downtown so we won’t have to drive far like we did for the ones in Seattle & Portland. I’ve been there before with kids I was babysitting, so it’ll be interesting to see it from this perspective. I’m sure I’ll take some photos to add to the 74 I finally uploaded today. If the weather holds up, we’re going to go to an egg hunt on Saturday. That should be interesting. It’s been raining off & on, so I’m not holding my breath, but we’re crossing our fingers it works out. I don’t know what Joshua will think of it, but I’m curious to find out. If it happens, I’ll try to capture the moment for you.
