All by himself!
Published by Mom October 15th, 2008 in NewsI was in the kitchen making lunch this afternoon when a naked little Joshua wandered into the room (he was playing with his trains & cars when I’d left him in the living room to go cook). Josh had taken off his shorts & training pants independently (he’d never shown an interest in trying to remove the training pants before but apparently he got the hang of it), so I was worried about what I’d find on the floor waiting for me. I was pleasantly surprised to find a potty full of pee (& lots of it!) instead. Joshua knew he had to go so he just went all by himself. What a big boy! We carried the potty to the bathroom & flushed it in the toilet, washed hands, & then played the potty song, which he enjoyed. And then again tonight, Joshua suddenly stopped playing & took of his training pants (the same ones since they managed to stay dry—yeah!) & go again. This is a good sign, although I’m not quite ready for him to do it alone because he won’t put the pants back on if he doesn’t end up going which could lead to problems. But I’m sooo excited—way to go, little man!!!
Joshua & I have been sick the last couple of days. We were at several gatherings of little kids last week so it’s not surprising, but I hope we didn’t pass on the germs to others before we got sick. Josh had a fever yesterday but he responded well to Tylenol & is mostly better today. I feel worse, but that’s likely in part to my trying to sleep in the nursery for much of last night because Joshua couldn’t sleep (crying seemed to give him a sore throat so I appeased him). Hopefully we’ll both feel better tomorrow because we’ve got school & would hate to miss it since it’s just once a week. This is Joshua’s first winter without the synagis shot so we’re likely in for more illnesses than before, but hopefully we can keep them to a minimum.
